All our blueberries are grown locally in Pitt Meadows and Coquitlam. We encourage buying food that is grown and produced locally in order to support farmers and agriculture in our community.
Locally grown food tastes better than foods that have been imported from other areas of the world because it is picked when it is at its peak of ripeness. Oftentimes, imported food is picked early and forced to ripen in transit. Imported berries are also jostled and handled more often than local berries. Our berries aren't shipped any great distance, so we can feel good about what we do knowing that we are helping to reduce the amount of carbon emissions released into our atmosphere.
